ON/OFF aims to embrace independent culture, off-culture. Located in extraordinary context (literally OVER so called east-west road, next to its tunnel running under historical Warsaw Castle square) the project required special approach, in both conceptual and technical layer. It starts with a 3 story building (each story for trade, art and living). Then it's cut and in the middle by the 'blade' of concrete structural core. The floors are interweaved creating continuous open deck. They are suspended on steel net like a suspended bridge. The road underneath is cut and weaved too to create a foot passage under it. A system for collecting and building trash recycled block produces material for building over the deck to house internal activities.
