City Gateway competition announced by Architektura-MURATOR addressed the problem of a city limit and ways of marking it in a landscape. I approached it very personally since almost every week I take a train to Warsaw. Every time I get nervous, because I don't know were exactly the city starts, where is its border. I'm interested in soothing this anxiety. Two things are characteristic for train travel: limited to a window movie-like contact with the outside and the ticket. Train's route is a movie for a passenger watched through the window. You can show a "still frame" in that movie exactly where city begins and tell its time. The ticket is a puzzle which solution satisfies curiosity. It shows recognizable object near the border of a city (Warsaw) which is emblematic for that area. Tickets differ depending on the route. Time is stamped by conductor.
